Deja Vu and Dreams

Having a dream in my sleep for me is a very regular thing to occur. Having a dream that ended up as an deja vu in the future is also very common for me. Almost once a week it always seem that I experience the stuff that I exposed to the other time, in my assumption it's in my dream. It always occur in my dream as a random, trivial stuff so I always end up not remembering the dream but figured out that I already dreamt about it when I actually doing that thing.

But lately, once in awhile. I seemed to have dreams that are so real. It's very real, not so trivial and the dream kind of trying to tell me something I need to know about someone. He/She can be a special someone, or someone that is not so close. Not so long ago I had a dream, about this girl, let's call her IM.... she was doing something that was very surprising, not a nature of her and her face kind of alternated between this one well known ulama and one well known antagonist ...sounded pretty scary wasn't it. I wasn't so scared at the time because I've never really taken dreams seriously, I just thought "what the heck was that...?". Well about a week later I found out something that I needed to know about the person ...and well....I figured out what was that dream all about..ugh!

Well, Let's say I had another dream like that, not as extreme as that one but still very real.....well the meaning is still open to interpretation euhehuhe.....is it just a random dream? another dejavu? or is it trying to tell me something?

Heavy on the Playlist

Albums that I have downloaded the past month....

Kaiser Chiefs - Employment

This garage rock band named themselves from a football club down in South Africa. The music in this album while not so original, but so diverse and mostly catchy. "Everyday I Love You Less and Less" is a very anthemic song with funny sometimes stupid lyric :D. "I Predict a Riot" is their catchy first single. "You Can Have it All" reminds me of some ol beach boys 60s music, or some flat out 90s brit pop. It took me a pretty long time to take out any song from this album from my playlist. 8.2/10

The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan

Before this one, the White Stripes has struck big with "White Blood Cells" and "Elephant", two great, raw and bluesy album. This time, they still have a lot of rawness...but it seemed that they didn't come with a solid plan... some of the songs sounded like unfinished stuff.. a dissappointing effort from them. 5/10

System of A Down - Mesmerize

It's really hard to classify this band. They really have their own sound...I might say Armenian trash metal? ahahha. There's nothing much changed from SOAD from their previous effort, they still speak out about politics, culture and other stuff without any hesitation. They have songs about "hollywood" pop culture, pornography even cocaine. Their compositions never cease to amaze me with a lot of melody but still with a lot of noise. They come up with another great stuff. 9/10

Coldplay - X and Y

This one to me sounds more like a combination between a more mainstream friendly "Parachute" and experimental "Rush of Blood to the Head". Nothing really new, just same ol Coldplay sound. Even a few of them resembles the song from their previous album... "Speed of Sound" and "Clocks" has a very similar intro.. that doesn't bode very well for me... 6/10

The Bravery - Special Edition

Another band with The prefix. Does it sound like another "the" band? The Bravery is highly influenced by New Order....new wave kind of stuff. Some people even compare them with Joy Division. Heavy on synth and keyboard. One of the reasons I downloaded their album was the fact that they will play in Jakarta in Jakarta Movement festival on August 6th and I'm thinking about watching these guys. The album itself is heavy on synth and guitar effect. It's actually not that great but I found myself nodding my head listening to a lot of the tracks like Fearless, Public Service Announcement. The overall sound of the album also kind of follow a lot of the same formula over and over. 6/10 for the quality 8/10 for catchyness :D

J-Rocks - Topeng Sahabat

Another newcomer in Indonesian music scene. They might be the first major label indonesian j-rock record. While I don't know that much about J-rock music, I found their music to be pretty fun and engaging. The vocal sometimes sounds a bit malay-ish (u know what i'm sayin? ;)), but that's ok. I like Topeng Sahabat (muse-ish), Lepaskan Diriku, Ceria ... 7.5/10

Various Artists - OST Gie

This one is dedicated for a movie with 50s 60s Indonesia background. We were treated with a lot of catchy oldies. Nurlela, a song in minang language but very catchy. Titiek Puspa also contributed with the line that i love..."Manisku, mengapa kau membisu" :D. There's also some good ole rock tracks to accompany the demo scene... Andy Rif and Speaker 1st gave a good performance with their rendition of Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone". The title track itself is so good it's still very heavy on my playlist. This is a must buy for you people who don't mind listening to catchy oldies hehee.... 8/10

Criteria

Every person seems to have their own criteria for his/her companion. Sometimes that criteria are kind of absolute , like same religion, no smoking, working etc etc etc. But sometimes that feeling just came out of the blue, without caring about the criteria that have been set.....u might have told people about he and she must be like and must not be like and it might just fall flat in your face...in my face ....

FUNNY QUOTES OF THE DAY:
(From the show "Scrubs")

[Dr Cox spoke to J.D]
Dr. Cox: Well, gosh - I guess I became a doctor because ever since I was a little boy, I just wanted to help people. I don't tell this story often, but I remember when I was seven years old, one time I found a bird that had fallen out of its nest, and so I picked him up and I brought him home, and I made him a house out of an empty shoebox.
[starts laughing]
Dr. Cox: I became a doctor for the same four reasons that everybody does - chicks, money, power and chicks.

[Jordan who used to have sex with JD talked about their "relationship]
Jordan: I don't dislike you, I nothing you.
J.D.: That's special.

July is Coming

Started out on Thursday, me and MT went to Citos to meet IY. The story on IY is pretty interesting, I have only met her twice, one of em was a month ago with CS people (she came to CS once and really loved it) and the other one when I was watching Stereosoul with friends, that one was quite a short one. So she's pretty much still mysterious to me, only more as friend of a friend. The great thing is, even though she's almost a stranger to me but we talked like we've known her for some time.. I guess I can add her in my list of good friends hehe. I also bumped into AR, the good looking but so very young Houstonites...kind of surprised that she's actually here instead of Houston and later found out that she's back in Jkt for good.

Friday was the D-Day. Tried to get a lotttt of sleep but of course it did not work out. Got a few phone calls and sms that kept me awake. Decided to stay with family at home for b'day. We did go out and ate some Prime US Ribeye medium cooked at Gandy's. Ahhh it was so good..tender and juicy ...the best steak I've ever eaten at Jkt (which is not much ehuehueueh)

Saturday is turning into the Soccer day for me lately. The Alpus people are having this alumni tournament coming up on 23rd, so we usually spar with another class on sat. I have even bought a pair of football shoes, cheapo adidas for 150k ehhehe. Played some soccer til around Maghrib then I went off to Citos sipping coffee (again........ahhhh im turning into banci Citos jahahaha...abis bingung mo kemana). This time with YN and SN, citos on sat night = observing bunch of abgs with pink shirt hahahahahha.

On Sunday, me, AI, her sister, MT and PPN went off to Wijaya to watch Ungu Violet. I was a bit curious about this one, and of course Dian Sastro helps. Well there was a bit funny story on this one. AI bought the ticket a bit early before me, MT and PPN came. MT didnt know what movie we're going to watch. I told him that it's War of the Worlds just to please him and kind of punk him. It turned out AI, PPN came into studio 4 where WOW was going to play. I thought o well it's WOW then, I didn't really mind. Later, when the Badan Sensor Film sign came up and said "War of the Worlds", AI instantly surprised and went off to Studio 2, I was confused...and don't even mention MT...ahhaa he was totally confused. He was like... "Ahhhhh...we're watching Ungu Violet??? ahhh damnnn yu cirrrr"

Anyway the movie itself I think was pretty crappy, the editing was very choppy and I cannot really seem to get touched by the story...I don't know, probably the chemistry wasn't really there for me. The ending was pretty good though...5.5/10 from me...

The next day I went off to watch WOW, I wasn't really interested in watching WOW because some people told me the ending was crappy. But, o well, MT bribed and begged me to go ahhahahah...there were also TSH, VD, AG, AF, RK, ZCK, etc. The movie itself well, good for the special effect, good fun for watching in a good cinema (PS wasnt bad)...but don't mention the story, very crappy! Looked like to me Steve didn't even bother to tell a bit more about the attacking aliens. There were also a lot of scenes that kind of insulting to people's general logic...watch for yourself to know more. 6/10 the special effect to the rescue.

Twenty Four

July 1st, 2005

I am officially 24 years old.

I usually don't really care that much about birthday. It's very rare that I celebrate my birthday. Especially after passing the 21 year mark. I don't really feel that I have that mark that I'm aiming. 21 years old is the legal age, what next? 25? the age when your car insurance dropped? :P. Ever since I passed 21 years old, I always feel that I am getting closer to to the end, that may sound pretty bleak, but that's what I usually feel. I feel older, somewhat more mature, but I still feel that I should not age this fast.... yep it's the transition age when you still want to be 21 but you're not...you have no choice but to get mature and face the true hard knocks of life. The birthday is the time for me to reflect on how much I have changed the past year, either for the better or worst.......

GOSH I'M 24!! AM I REALLY THAT OLD? :P
